Friday night I crossed something off my bucket list – I saw Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band live in concert. It was four hours of non-stop awesomeness. I want to do it again!!

The concert was outside at Nationals Stadium and with the much anticipated tendrils of autumn weather making an appearance I had to dress strategically. Layers. A tank, an open button down and lightweight scarf allowed me to keep up with the dropping temps as the sun set and nighttime breezes picked up.

A FEW NOTES ABOUT THE OUTFIT

1. The Pants – These will not last past the fall season but frankly who cares. The available colors are perfect jewel tones; the cord material is thin so as to minimize bulk typical of ’80s era corduroy pants; the stretch to fit balance is one of the best I’ve found especially after 4 hours of crazy happy concert dancing my waist band was not stretched out; that being said – order one to two sizes UP from your typical pants size (apparently the rockstar they modeled this on is the hipless Mick Jagger!). These pants are perfect for fall transition and with a price point that you can ditch them at the end of the season.

2. The Blouse – I cannot say enough super wonderful things about this shirt. It simply rocks. I am a dark denim fanatic when it comes to jeans but this shirt in the lighter shade is crazy versatile. I own two in different sizes and recommend the same to you. I have a small because this shirt is fitted in a gently body skimming that adds a nice sexy to your outfit. The fitted aspect is good for layering under sweaters as well. I also have a medium that I wear when I want a more casual, roomy option. Because of the fitted design I still look pulled together not billowy/boxy.

3. The Scarf – This was a surprisingly good purchase. I’ve been seeing lots of decorative scarves in fall transition outfits but was not sure how much I wanted to try it. The Gap scarf purchase was an impulse — at $30 a rather pricey impulse for a scarf at Gap. But I could not be happier. The scarf is silky, lightweight, lays nicely and looks far higher quality than it appears on the website.
