This weekend was one of my absolute favorite holiday traditions – the Alexandria Scottish Christmas Walk. Ever since I was in high school my family has made a festive day of watching the parade. We staked out the exact same viewing spot, ate lunch and then shopped and admired the decorated houses until the sun set.

Not much has changed through the years in how we approach the day. But one big addition is that the Love of My Life (LOML) marches in the parade as a member of the Washington, DC St. Andrew’s Society. It is pretty darn cool when world’s collide like that!

So what do I wear on a fun day like this – especially one that starts early and goes late, involves a lot of walking and out and about in the frosty air!?!?

And this year LOML was the Grand Marshal of the parade!!! So proud of my handsome man!! Here he is with his trusty sidekick, my adorable La C leading the parade!
