Okay so due to technical difficulties I will be posting the suede bag outfit post tomorrow – Saturday fun!
Enjoy today’s post on what I will be up to this weekend….
> Looking forward to taking advantage of the Macy’s One Day Sale on Saturday (sneak peak today!!) to meet my winter coat needs. If you shop online you get an extra 20% off – whoo to the hoo! I love this Jones New York coat – it is sleek, classic and best of all LONG!! My knees shall shiver no more. And yes, Burberry is sublime when it comes to what to wear with your wellies, but I grew up with London Fog and the love affair continues.
Jones New York Classic Wool Blend Maxi Walker – Macy’s $384.99 (originally $460)
London Fog Double Breasted Belted Trench Coat – Macy’s $179.99 (originally $200)
> Recovering from a week of celebrating La C’s birthday last week. Two birthday gatherings, two birthday cakes, 24 cupcakes, 26 goodie bags, 12 pizzas, too many to count awesome friends and adoring family, two exhausted parents and one very special newly minted 5 year old. When my baby asks for a waterfall cake, mama heads in to the kitchen (my annual foray!) — ta da!!
> Promoting the 2013 District Sample Sale!! It is back on Tuesday, September 24, 2013 and I cannot wait! This is where I picked up three stunning DVF pieces for a fraction of their cost, much less their worth. I think it is such a great event that this year I invested a little bit more than just my shopping budget and became a Benefactress of this year’s event.
An all-volunteer 501(c)(3) organization, the District Sample Sale Foundation donates 100% of its profits to its chosen charity of the season along with a portion to its 12 legacy charities. This season’s benefiting charity, N Street Village, is the largest provider of women-focused services for D.C.’s homeless and low-income women, offering 1,400 women each year comprehensive services including affordable housing, employment, integrated health care and addiction recovery. The DSS Fall 2013 donation will specifically fund the Bethany Women’s Shelter at N Street Village, the drop-in day shelter that offers up to 100 women each day safe respite from the streets including breakfasts and lunches, shower and bathroom access, a place to receive mail, laundry machines and clothing closets as well as activities, resources and opportunities to help them move from homelessness, including crisis care, 365 days a year.
> Restarting C25K. Yes. Starting again. No, I don’t know either how I could not complete an easy as pie daily build-up program designed for a slug like me. Sigh. But I am nothing if not persevering, so with a fantastic and motivational playlist, I am off and running. Literally. I totally crack myself up sometimes!
