I spent a lot of my youth hanging out in Talbot’s stores as that was my mother’s go to clothing shop.
Before there was internet shopping, Talbots had their red phones in every shop where you could call directly to the catalogue people and place your order.
My first business suits were from Talbots.
I loved Talbots for its nostalgia but I was over the pleated pants look and we parted ways.
Now, however, I have returned to the fold. A few years back someone behind that big red door at Talbots HQ realized they needed to modernize. It has been a bit hit and miss but I’m impressed they are trying.
So I am hanging out again in the (virtual) Talbots and there is still nostalgia — one of their preferred models is Nikki Taylor, a model that I grew up with in my teen fashion magazines.
