Looking forward to a busy weekend!
We are headed to a White Ford Bronco show at the 9:30 Club tonight – going full old school in both music and venue. Saturday is our daughter’s ACT test so we’ll be simultaneously pacing and running errands while she is doing her thing. We also have my sister and my annual joint family birthday dinner – our birthdays are a week apart by a few years so every year we plan a joint bday dinner. Keeping with the old-school weekend theme, this year we are going to Benihana! Wrapping up the weekend with a morning at the Renwick Gallery with friends before settling in for the Super Bowl. (Go Eagles!)
FRIDAY CONCERT OOTD

T-shirt – Old school graphic tee. This Old Navy t-shirt is a great option.
Jeans – Obviously skinny jeans, I am Gen X after all. While I may be short waisted, I find J Crew tops are still too short for me but their jeans are a hidden gem fit-wise. I own this pair of jeans and love them.
Sneakers – I have heavily embraced the colorful sneaker movement! These adidas mustard slimline sneakers are sublime.
SATURDAY FAMILY DINNER OOTD

This outfit is a bit dressy for Benihana but my inspiration was if you were going to a fancy birthday dinner!
Jewelry – These Dorsey white sapphire mini hoops pack a lot of punch. It may be a family dinner but adding a little sizzle is never a bad idea!
Dress – I have several dresses with this silhouette. In your 40’s and 50’s, a sexy side rouche can put a real pep in your step. The color on this Mango A-line dress is a great pop for these winter months.
Shoes – Being back on the East Coast, I am still Bambi-ing my way through the times that require heels. I have actually spent some solid dollars on good heels since we moved back to DC. I would like to enjoy the great events I get to attend so that means comfortable, chic shoes. These Gianvito Rossi heels are super sexy and good for the long haul.
SUNDAY AT THE MUSEUM OOTD

Cardigan – If there was a cardigan that summed me up this would be it. I just ordered it. I remember these exact button detail on cardigans from the 80’s. Thank you Zara for this jacquard cardigan of my dreams.
Pants – I’m still working up to long hauls in the buttoned pants so for casual days I have been in Spanx world. These Spanx ponte flair pants are not only great for a morning perusing a museum but can be a base for your chic travel outfit. (For the love of all that is who you follow, a sweatsuit, no matter who makes it or what you call it, is NOT for anywhere outside of your home.)
Turtleneck – Yes, I still wear turtlenecks. Give me all the turtlenecks, all the turtleneck sweaters…So of course I am going to wear this tried and true LL Bean turtleneck underneath my cardigan.
