I will forever be in awe of the women who can go on a beach vacation and look as put together as they do at a coffee date. This isn’t polite patter to introduce my topic. This is a full throated confession that I spend an inordinate amount of my time on my beach vacation assessing the habits of put together women. This on the scene study plus pre-travel research has netted me a robust vacation pre-game.
Full transparency, I am 20+ years in to an annual beach vaca and this is the first year I felt somewhat closer to not looking like a Yeti after a day at the beach and pool. Practice makes somewhere this side of imperfect, but better then nothing!

I prefer to schedule my facial a solid two weeks before my time in the sun. I would walk through fire to get to my facial appointments with Evelyn. But I will not walk under the sun for a day at the beach for AT LEAST a week after my facial. If your facial contains dermaplaning, retinol, lasers – give your skin some time to absorb/react.
I always get a sparkly ocean-hued pedicure. I call them mermaid toes! I get a gel pedicure because open-toed shoes plus ocean salt and sand can spell disaster for regular nail polish.
