True style is the one thing that foils time. Time may march on but style can transcend the decades, trends, and innovations.
Katharine Hepburn had true style. She may have predominantly worn pants but no other woman could look so commanding and sensual at the same time in pants.
“I never realized until lately that women were supposed to be the inferior sex.” Katharine Hepburn
Probably the greatest aspect of her style was its minimalism. Hepburn could pair a silk blouse with a pair of tweed trousers and make the rest of the room look garishly overdressed.
I take a quiet thrill that my name is spelled the same as this amazing woman. We also share a penchant for turtleneck sweaters and silk blouses. However, I will be the first to admit that my love of accessories is where we part style ways.
I have compiled three Hepburn-inspired looks and of course one is imbued with my signature “the more the merrier” accessorizing. Because while we “Katharine’s with an ‘a’ ” need to stick together; we also need make our own mark in the world.
My mark may just be in the form of an extra large gold cuff bracelet. What will yours be?
