I was never a Girl Scout.
Literally.
The whole Brownies, Girl Scouts (they did not have Daisys when I was “of the age”) weren’t my thing as a kid. But as a an adult I support them wholeheartedly – one box of cookies at a time!
But when one of the coolest moms I know decided to lead a brand new Daisy troop I was all in.
This weekend was the first meeting.
This is one of those parenting moments where you as the parent think this is the best thing ever for your child and you lure them in with tales of uniforms and accessories and fun field trips and they unwittingly let you lead them in to a room full of kids they have never laid eyes on, save one or two, and they look at you like a trapped rabbit and you know that the next “great idea” you have is going to need more bait than a uniform with accessories.
But all went well – cookies were scarfed, pledges were practiced, daisy petals were exchanged and now I have to learn how to sew.
So here is what I wore to my first ever Daisy Girl Scout Meeting.
