I lost my ever-loving mind Friday night over, ironically, a puzzle. This sitting on the floor in an empty house, cooking with camp canteen utensils, sleeping on a mattress on the floor is testing my very ability to adapt. Friday night, I was definitely not grinning and bearing it.

Then the clouds parted and the sky bloomed blue and clear. In other words, our stager came through earlier than anticipated and brought furniture this weekend.

La C, my resilient little tween who is going stir crazy, gasped when she realized we were going to have a dining room table. I might have cried when I saw the sofa and multiple comfy chairs.

Folks, never underestimate the power of furniture.

And never take it for granted.
